Electric Sales & Service Ltd. was incorporated in Barbados as a supplier and distributor of electrical goods and services. We were one of the first agents of General Electric appliances. In 1965 the company was sold to USI, a large American company, and was incorporated under its world wide umbrella. Over the years the company expanded into heavy mechanical machines with its main brand being Caterpillar. Many additional lines were added to the growing portfolio of the company, and during the late sixties Trane air-conditioning was added to the list. In 1977 USI decided to pull out of the Caribbean and the company was split into two divisions; mechanical and electrical. The mechanical division was sold to Plantrac, a division of Neal & Massy. The electrical division was sold to local concern and the name Electric Sales & Service Ltd. was revived.
